Privacy Policy

Overview

BoardScore is a free, browser-based collection of game-night tools. This policy explains what the tools store locally, which optional services may receive information, and how to contact us with privacy questions.

Information stored in your browser

Scores, player names, settings, and other tool state are stored in your browser's local storage so a tool can remember your setup. The tools do not send that game data to a BoardScore server. Browser extensions, device backups, browser sync, and anyone with access to your device may still be able to access local browser data; use the browser controls on your device if you want to remove it.

Optional analytics and advertising

If enabled for the deployment, Google Analytics, Vercel Analytics, and Google AdSense are optional services. They are not loaded until you explicitly choose Accept all in the consent notice. Before that choice, advertising and analytics storage default to denied and the site does not request those optional third-party scripts or measurement endpoints. A small local consent bootstrap still runs so the site can enforce your choice.

Consent choices

Your choice is stored locally under the key gnt-consent-v1. ChoosingReject non-essential keeps optional analytics and advertising disabled. You can reopen the controls at any time with the Privacy Choices link in the site footer. Clearing site data also removes the saved choice and shows the notice again.

Cookies and similar technologies

The tools do not require tracking cookies. After you grant consent, Google services may use cookies, local storage, or similar signals for measurement and advertising according to their own policies. You can also manage personalised advertising in Google Ads Settings.

Information you choose to send us

The tools do not require an account and do not ask for your name, phone number, or email address. If you email us, we receive your email address and the contents of your message so we can respond and handle the request. Please do not include sensitive personal information or private game data in a support message.

Data we do not collect through the tools

  • No account credentials or login profile
  • No remote copy of scores, player names, or game states
  • No precise location tracking by the BoardScore tools
  • When optional services are enabled, their providers may process technical data or infer approximate location under their own policies
  • No sale of personal information by BoardScore

Children's privacy

BoardScore is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, please contact us so we can address it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when the service, optional providers, or our data practices change. The revision date at the top of this page identifies the current version.
